Get the "Metabolic Edge"

High School, Collegiate & Youth Team Sports

To build better athletes you must start with the metabolic foundation instead of the ‘sugar’ shortcut.

Young athletes are being asked to train harder, compete more often, travel farther, and recover faster than ever.

But developing an athlete isn’t just about adding more workouts, scrimmages or drills.

It starts and ends with establishing a metabolic foundation on which lasting health & performance are built upon.

Set yourself or your child up for health & performance that will last a lifetime!

THE problem:

Too Much Sugar . . .

Everyone knows too much sugar is toxic. What most don't know is our bodies see all those carbs as sugar (glucose).

It's sugar plain & simple!

THE solution:

You trained your body to perform but did you train your metabolism to perform the way it was designed to?

A young athlete is still developing.

That’s why performance nutrition shouldn’t only ask:

“How do we get this athlete to perform better this weekend?”

It should also ask:

"How do we help athletes become stronger, fitter, faster and robust for years to come?"

You trained your legs. Did you train your fuel system?

OFM’s approach is built around building metabolic capacity as a foundation for both immediate performance and long-term health & performance.

The Game Doesn't Get Easier.

Build Better. Build Healthier. Build Performance.

Youth, Middle School, High School and Collegiate athletes  face:

  • Multiple practices each week
  • Strength and conditioning sessions
  • Games and tournaments
  • Travel
  • Early mornings
  • Late practices
  • Back-to-back competitions
  • Academic demands
  • Limited recovery time

The challenge isn’t simply having enough energy for one game or practice.

From Practice To Game Day

From Practice To Game Day

Team-sport athletes rarely perform at one intensity.

The metabolic demands constantly change.

Your athlete needs an engine capable of changing with them.

High School Athletes

Build The Metabolic Foundation.

High school is where many athletes establish the habits that follow them into collegiate sports and adulthood.

This is the time to learn:

  • How to train
  • How to recover and adapt
  • How to fuel; Dietary habits, nutritional awareness, proper hydration
  • How to listen to and take care of their body
  • How to manage the demands and pressure of competition
  • How to build sustainable performance habits

Don’t just prepare for the next game.  Prep for Life!

Collegiate Athletes

Perform At The Next Level.

College athletes face a different level of demand.

  • More training.
  • More competition.
  • More travel.
  • More strength work.
  • More pressure.

And often less time to recover.

At this level, small performance limitations can become major competitive differences.

Youth Team Sports

Start With The Right Foundation.

Young athletes don’t need complicated performance systems.

They need education, healthy habits and an appropriate metabolic foundation for development.

The goal is not to turn a young athlete into a professional athlete.

The goal is to help them become a healthier, stronger and more capable athlete as they grow.

For young athletes, recovery becomes even more important when practices, games, school and travel are all competing for the same limited time resources.

OFM emphasizes performance and recovery by focusing on metabolic and cellular health, with the goal of reducing the damage associated with burning too much sugar (glucose) during prolonged strenuous activity which allows for less recovery time and more adaptation.

That’s the cycle.

VESPA® For Team Performance

VESPA isn’t intended to be another product athletes simply add to their sports bag. It’s part of a bigger philosophy:

That’s the difference between simply fueling an athlete and developing the athlete’s metabolic engine.

OFM
Program

OFM® For Developing Athletes

OFM — Optimized Fat Metabolism — is a comprehensive approach designed to build metabolic capacity and flexibility rather than forcing every athlete into a one-size-fits-all diet containing “Too Much Sugar”.

OFM specifically states that its approach is individualized around the athlete’s unique situation rather than being a rigid program.

That matters for team environments.

Because no two athletes are exactly alike.

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

You can use VESPA in conjunction with carbohydrates, you’ll just need a lot less. The OFM program does not remove carbohydrates from the diet, high level workouts and competition but uses them “strategically” for performance and adaptation. You will use less and get more by using VESPA and OFM strategies.

When you are metabolically fit your body naturally replenishes its glycogen stores*. Athletes who metabolize fat the way Nature intended have a much deeper well of energy to draw from. This includes the ability to generate substantial glucose and ketones from liver fat to meet metabolic needs.

Fat metabolism is not limited to beta oxidation.  Unbeknownst to most people your liver can liberate fat for fuel while, at the same time, produce volumes of glucose and ketones from liver fat to meet the metabolic demand of high level physical or mental activity.

VESPA supports these pathways making you “Blood Sugar Stable” to maintain focus, coordination and retention of fine motor skills.

Absolutely not! . . . VESPA works as a stand alone product to increase fat metabolism.

By incorporating VESPA into your fueling you won’t need nearly as many external calories thus feel and perform better using less!

“What you will notice is what you don’t notice” . . . gone are the rollercoaster rides of energy spikes and crashes, the mental fog and the GI discomfort from trying to consume calories during physical activity. You will feel naturally strong, sharp and ‘on your game’ consistently when using VESPA.

But the priceless value of VESPA is the paradigm shift in recovery because what you experience as faster ‘recovery’ is  damage prevention at the cellular/mitochondrial level from shifting away from burning sugar. Less damage, more adaptation, that is the real value of VESPA.

No. VESPA is a natural “Metabolic Catalyst”.  It contains zero stimulants and is low in sugar. It is a signaling peptide that tells the body to mobilize and metabolize fat — to tap into your unlimited onboard energy supply so you avoid the crashes caused by a physiological dependence upon a constant supply of external carbohydrates.
